Free Shipping
We offer free standard shipping on orders and items that meet certain conditions:
- When cardholders use their Academy Credit Card to place orders on Academy.com, we offer free shipping on eligible orders over $15.
- When customers are signed in to their myAcademy account, we offer free shipping on eligible orders over $25.
- When customers are NOT signed in to a myAcademy account, we offer free shipping on eligible orders over $50.

Free shipping for cardholders: Limited to Standard Shipping. Cannot be combined with the Academy Sports + Outdoors employee discount. Bulk and select items may be excluded. See the product page for shipping information. Academy Sports + Outdoors does not ship to Alaska, California, or Hawaii. A minimum pre-tax purchase of $15.00 is required to receive a discount.

Standard Shipping (3-5 Business Days)
- We ship most items to the contiguous states of the United States, (excluding California) via Standard Ground service.
- Most orders arrive within 3-5 business days. Business days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — excluding United States federal holidays.
- We offer same-day order processing. To qualify, you must place yours before 2:00 pm CST (Central Standard Time) Monday to Friday (excluding U.S. federal holidays).
Express Shipping (2 Business Days)
- We ship most items to the contiguous states of the United States (excluding California) via 2-Day Express service.
- Expedited shipping may not be available to all zip codes.
- You can expect your order to arrive within two business days. Business days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — excluding United States federal holidays.
- Orders placed Monday through Friday (excluding Holidays) before 2:00 PM CT will be received the next business day.
- Any orders placed on the weekends, holidays, or weekdays after 2:00 PM CST (Central Standard Time) will be received within two business days.
Shipping to P.O. Boxes (3-10 Business Days)
- We ship most items to the contiguous states of the United States (excluding California). Most orders arrive within 3-10 business days. Business days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — excluding United States federal holidays.
- Items addressed to a P.O. Box may be shipped via US Postal Service/Smart Post. Some restrictions may apply.
Note: Some items are too big to ship to a P.O. Box and must be shipped to a street address. Items over 70 lbs. or flammable cannot be shipped via US Postal Service at this time
Military APO/FPO Addresses (4-6 Weeks)
We ship most items to Military post offices — like an Army Post Office (APO) or Fleet Post Office (FPO) — addresses via US Postal Service, but some restrictions do apply. Business days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — excluding United States federal holidays.
Note: Due to US Postal Service restrictions, some items cannot be shipped to these Military addresses. Items that are over 70 lbs. or flammable cannot be shipped via US Postal Service at this time.
Scheduled Delivery for Heavy or Bulky Items (7-14 Business Days)
Academy offers scheduled delivery shipping via a freight trucking company for certain heavy or bulky items that cannot be shipped via parcel carrier (e.g. UPS, FedEx, or USPS). During the checkout process, we automatically select which products require this option. After entering your shipping information, we verify if special delivery services are available in your area.
Most ‘Oversized Items’ leave our distribution center within one full business day. You can expect your order to arrive within 7-14 business days. Business days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — excluding United States federal holidays.
If your order qualifies, you can choose from one of the following options:
- Basic Delivery - The carrier will deliver to your door with no appointment or signature required.
- Scheduled Delivery - The carrier will contact you to schedule your delivery within the main entrance of your home.
- Room of Choice - The carrier will contact you to schedule your delivery to your room of choice.
Note: Orders ship via Academy's Bulk Carrier Service. Additionally, bulk orders are not eligible for P.O. Box or APO/FPO/DPO delivery.
Gift cards (3-5 Business Days)
- We ship gift cards to the contiguous states of the United States (excluding California) via Standard Ground service.
- Your order usually arrives within 3-5 business days. Business days include Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — excluding United States federal holidays.
- You must place the order before 2:00 pm CST (Central Standard Time) Monday to Friday (excluding federal holidays within the United States) in order for us to process your order the same day.
Shipping Restrictions/Limitations

- We currently do not ship to Alaska, California, Hawaii, or U.S. territories (such as Puerto Rico).
- We do not offer shipping outside of the United States.

Which categories are restricted for certain payment types?
Most of the specialty payment types are ineligible for purchases like Firearms and Ammo due to restrictions from the payment providers.

Drop Shipping
What is drop shipping?
Drop shipping is a retail fulfillment method where a store doesn't keep the products it sells in stock. Instead, when a store sells a product, it purchases the item from a third party, and that third party ships the product directly to the customer.
How do I know that my item is coming from a drop shipping vendor?
These items are also called out with a banner on the product’s page that states “This item may ship from a different location therefore only eligible for ground shipping. Additionally, this item is not eligible for APO/FPO delivery.”
Why are there differences in functionality for drop shipping items versus items that come from Academy Stores or Distribution Centers?
The key difference lies in the level of control and integration Academy has over the entire fulfillment process. Items that Academy keeps in stock allows for more flexibility, while drop-shipped items are fulfilled outside of Academy that leads to less flexibility around the order.
Can I cancel an item that is coming from a drop shipping vendor?
While the order has been created and the PO has been released and accepted by the vendor, customers will still be able to cancel the item that is coming from a drop shipping vendor. After this point, customers will no longer be able to cancel the item.
Can I cancel a shipment that is coming from a drop shipping vendor?

Cancellations
Our team processes orders shortly after customers place one. You’ll have a short period of time to cancel or modify your order once you place it on Academy.com. We cannot guarantee exactly how much time you’ll have at this time.
What items and orders are eligible for cancellation?
Shipping, Same Day Delivery & Bulk Delivery orders are eligible to be canceled by item or by order while the order is being prepared. Once the order is ready to ship or be delivered, the order is no longer eligible for cancellations. Please reference the Return Policy for more information if you no longer need the item(s).
Store Pick Up orders are eligible for item and order level cancellation while the order is being prepared. Once the order is packed and ready for the customer to pick up, only the entire order can be canceled.
How do I cancel an item or Order on Web with an Account?
- Sign in to your myAcademy account.
- Locate the order in the purchases tab.
- You can select Cancel Item or Cancel Order from the Order Details page.
Please note the option to request cancellation will only appear for items that have yet to be processed for shipping.

- Go to the Track Orders & Purchases page.
- Enter the Order Number (located on the order confirmation email/SMS) and email associated with the order.
- Select View Purchase Details.
- You can select Cancel Item or Cancel Order from the Order Details page.

- Select the order from your purchases in the account tab mobile app to view order details.
- Select Cancel Item from the Purchase History or Details page. You can also select Cancel Order from the Purchase Details.

Why was my item or order canceled?
You will receive an email and SMS (if opted in) order confirmation as soon as we receive your order. Once we start processing it, items may be canceled for reasons such as:
- An item is no longer available
- We cannot meet the SLA that the customer selected
- The payment method can't be processed
- The shipping address can't be verified
- For Pick Up in Store/Curbside orders, we'll cancel items that aren't picked up during the pickup window, 5 days from Order Placement.
In the event that we can help avoid a cancellation, we will provide options to the customer to change a store location or select a new shipping date for the item. These changes will be sent to the customer via Email/SMS and can always be accessed via the Account.
Can I stop an order from being delivered?
We do our best to ship orders quickly. If the order is being prepared for shipment or delivery, you may be able to cancel the item or order. It may also be possible to request to change to store pick up or change the address. Once your order has shipped and tracking details are available, you can contact the carrier directly to refuse the delivery.
Unable to cancel or modify your order?
When you’re unable to cancel or modify it, we’ve fully processed the order. At this point, we are unable to accept changes or cancellations.

Are there certain items that cannot be shipped?
Academy does not ship certain restricted items including, but not limited too firearms and ammunition to a customers home. Those items must be picked up in store.

Academy Sports + Outdoors has distribution centers as well as a strong network of retail stores. We can fulfill orders without being limited to one source of inventory. When you place an order, we rely on this network to serve you to the best capacity possible. You may receive separate shipments when you place an order with Academy.com.
