Continue using your Academy Sports + Outdoors Credit Card as you normally would to shop and save 5% on purchases†. Your current balance will transfer to your new card on May 15.

Your card may transition to the all-new myAcademy Rewards Mastercard^® Credit Card or myAcademy Rewards Credit Card.
June 15 through June 22

Your new myAcademy Rewards Mastercard^® or myAcademy Rewards Credit Card should arrive by mail.

Expect an envelope labeled myAcademy Rewards Credit Card in the mail with your new card.

Once your new card arrives:
- Activate it and any card for your authorized buyers online in Account Center.
- Go to your myAcademy Rewards account to update your card information. Then, set your new card as your default payment method.
- Start shopping with your myAcademy Rewards card.
On September 30

Your old card will deactivate.

Why am I getting a new card?

The old Academy Sports + Outdoors credit cards are transitioning to the new myAcademy Rewards Mastercard^® Credit Card or myAcademy Rewards Credit Card.

Does the change with my credit card impact my membership in the myAcademy Rewards Loyalty Program?

If you are already a member of the myAcademy Rewards loyalty program, you’ll continue to enjoy loyalty benefits along with the benefits of your new myAcademy Rewards Credit Card. If you are not a current member, we highly encourage you to enroll today to get the full value of myAcademy Rewards.

Before my new card arrives, can I continue to use my Academy Credit Card to make a purchase?

Yes! Keep using your current Academy Sports + Outdoors Credit Card as usual. You will continue to get your 5% off at Academy and free shipping. Your new myAcademy Rewards Credit Card will arrive by June 22, 2026. Once you have your new card, activate it online and start using it right away to earn.

Will I be enrolled in myAcademy Rewards when my Academy Credit Card transitions to the new program?

If you're not already a member and we have enough information on file, you will be enrolled in the myAcademy Rewards loyalty program when your card transitions. Separate terms and conditions apply. You can delete your myAcademy Rewards account at any time through your account management page.

Can I enroll in myAcademy Rewards before my card transitions?

Yes! You do not need to wait for Academy to enroll you. We encourage you to enroll in myAcademy Rewards now to start enjoying benefits right away.

Do I have a choice on which credit card I receive? Can I change my card type when I receive my new card?

No. The bank will assign you to a card product and you will not be able to choose or change your card type.

Can I opt out of receiving the new card without penalty?

No. You will not be able to opt out of the new card since the old Academy Sports + Outdoors Credit Card program will no longer be offered.

What will this change mean for my credit report?

This change will not appear as a closed account on your credit report. Instead, it will show that your Academy Sports + Outdoors Credit Card has transitioned to your new myAcademy Credit Card account.

Account and Payments

What will happen to my account balance?

Your account balance will automatically transfer to your new account on May 15, 2026, with no changes to your statement date or payment due date. Please continue making payments on any outstanding balance as outlined in your Credit Card Agreement.

Will my autopay or scheduled payments carry over?

Yes. Any autopay you set up will carry over to your new account. You can review your new account details, including any existing scheduled or autopay settings, in Account Center after your transition is complete.

Will I continue to receive my credit card billing statement electronically?

Yes, any account preferences such as paperless billing will transfer to your new account. To enroll in paperless billing, please do so in Account Center.

Will my Account Center login be the same?

Yes. Your Account Center username and password will stay the same. If you haven't registered for online account management, visit Account Center to sign up.

About Your New Card

When can I start using my new myAcademy Rewards Mastercard^® Credit Card or myAcademy Rewards Credit Card?

Once you receive your new card, you can activate it and start using it right away. For your security, remember to destroy your old Academy Sports + Outdoors Credit Card.

Will my account number change?

Yes, your new myAcademy Rewards Credit Card will have a new account number, expiration date, and security code (CVC). Once you have your new card, please update your online Academy.com account with your new card number as your preferred payment method.

If I have an authorized user on my existing account, will their account number change?

Any authorized users on your existing account will receive a new card with an updated account number and expiration date. Be sure to activate all new cards and destroy old cards for your security. If you have more than one authorized buyer on your account, their cards may ship in a separate envelope.

Will my credit limit change?

Your myAcademy Rewards credit cards may have a different credit limit. You can find it online in Account Center or in your welcome materials.

Can I add my new card to my digital wallet?

Yes, if you receive the myAcademy Rewards Mastercard^® Credit Card, you can add it to your digital wallet. We will contact you directly with instructions on how to save it to your digital wallet after May 15, 2026.
